The festival transformed a once-derelict wasteland into a blossoming landscape packed full with flowers, plants and trees that welcomed two million visitors and several celebrities. Simon Morgan, 42, from Ebbw Vale, fondly remembers his time as a worker at the Garden Festival, and credits his current career as a nurse to the event.

We all had a great time and would have loved to have carried on working there.
